When people discover Misty is an author, they assume her books are children’s stories. A student in one of her creative writing classes once stated, “I can’t believe you write suspense. You seem so nice.”
What they don’t realize is underneath Misty’s girl-next-door façade beats the heart of a kickass heroine. As a young girl, she forced her friends to act out scenes from her favorite adventure stories—Alice in Wonderland and the Wizard of Oz. At nine years old, she applied to be one of Charlie’s Angels. She’s still waiting by the phone for Charlie’s call.
These days she forces her characters (instead of her friends) to act out the adventures in her head. Her kickass heroines face heart-stopping danger and suicidal odds whether they’re bringing justice to all or simply clicking their leather boots together to find their way home. Misty bases her female characters on the stuff Alice, Dorothy and the Angels were made of: girl-next-door facades with the heart of a kickass (but always nice) heroine.
Misty is the author of four series: the Super Agent romantic suspense series, the light paranormal Witches Anonymous series, the dark paranormal Lost Worlds series, and the Kali Sweet urban fantasy series. The books in her Super Agent series have won a CataNetwork Reviewers’ Choice Award, CAPA nominations, the New England Reader’s Choice Bean Pot Award for Best Romantic Suspense in 2010 and the ACRA Heart of Excellence Reader’s Choice Award for Best Romantic Suspense in 2011.
Her Witches Anonymous series has garnered 5-star reviews and was dubbed a Fallen Angel Reviews Recommended Read. Both the Super Agent Series and the Witches Anonymous Series have been on multiple Amazon Kindle bestsellers lists.
She has short stories in Entangled, A Paranormal Anthology, and Every Witch Way But Wicked. All proceeds from Entangled go to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation and all proceeds for EWWBW go to Nathon Fillion’s Kids Need To Read charity.
